The recording

One more of the tracks recorded on the second day of the first recording weekend session for the Nursery Rhymes Album, on Oct 5th 2008 at Comfy Towers. The drums, bass, and guitar were recorded live. Apart from the WHO style drumming the song features 3 different guitars. On the first recording session Mike played one of Ian’s Stratocasters. You can still hear that Stratocaster sound in the left channel. Several months later, back in Germany, Mike doubled that Stratocaster part with an Epiphone Casino which you can hear in the other channel. The main riff (in the middle of the stereo panorama) was played on a Gibson SG by Nick Miller, a singer and guitar player Ian invited to take part on the album. (Nick Miller also did a great vocal performance on The Teddy Bears Picnic). The cracking Lead Vocals for Georgie Porgie were done by Ian Watts; Mike and Nick shared the Backing Vocals.
