Musicians Release Nursery Rhyme Collection with 70 Nursery Rhymes

The Nursery Rhyme Collection

by Ian Watts on September 27, 2009

On September the 4th 2009 a collection of favourite childrens’ nursery rhymes was delivered for release both on iTunes and other digital download sites and as hard copies for sale on the like of Amazon, etc.

The collection is the first two volumes of what will be an ongoing project of releasing these childrens favourites in new modern styles, with importance being put on the highest quality of musicianship, recording techniques, arrangements and instruments.

The CD comes with a special website which accompanies the CD in an attempt to introduce and teach children about the basics of music and about the instruments used on the recordings, this is in effort to get children to pick up on the fantastic styles and feels of the content contained on the collection. The CD was produced at Comfy Towers Recording Studio in Linby, Nottingham. UK; Engineered and Produced by its owner Ian Watts, the tracks were then shipped to Germany where the tracks were mixed by co-producer Mike Wilbury. The final results were mastered by Chris McComack at Blacklisted Mastereing in Derby, UK.

These tracks deliver much more than the usual expected quality and they quite clearly break barriers that usual childrens music put up, for example only the best real instruments were used instead of the usual cheap keyboard sounds inherent of the genre.

Vocals were mainly deliverd by Rebecca Leivers of Nottingham however 32 other musicians provided vocals, drums, guitars, fiddle, banjo, etc.

The tracks themselves have been arranged in many different musical styles including rock, pop, salsa, jazz and some are even stylised on other famous tracks. The songs are listenable by the adult too which hopes to provide the parent with a stress free listening time. The CD content delivers over two and a half hours of pure fun music, split across two CD disks and divided into four distinct sections: Time To Dance, Time To Play, Time To Learn and Time to Sleep giving the parent options of which part of the CD may be applicable to that moment.

This collection hopes to stand the test of time and bring a spark of musical enthusiasm to as many childrens’ lives as possible hopefully inspiring them to become musicians of the future.

We hope this music can be enjoyed by many at all levels. Visit the website www.nursery-rhymes-collection.com to hear about the musicians taking part and sample some of the songs.
